(Lithgow Mercury - 11 August 1943) "CULLEN BULLEN CATHOLIC CHURCH OPENED (From Our Own Correspondent) Bright sunshine prevailed on Sunday when the new Catholic Church at Cullen Bullen was solemnly blessed and dedicated by Monsignor Flanagan, V.G., of Mudgee (assisted by Father Henry arid Father Cotter, of Bathurst). Dr. Norton, Bishop of Bathurst, was unable to attend, but he Intends to visit Cullen Bullen at the earliest opportunity. The church was dedicated to St Brendan, who was a missionary and in the course of his work travelled much. It was fitting that this church be dedicated to St. Brendan, as it also has travelled. It was moved from its original site to a second site in Sunny Comer and has now come to rest at Cullen Bullen."
