The Church is closed and the building is now used as the Latrobe Visitor Information Centre. A brief history of the building and congregation is currently displayed inside the front entrance of the building. It states in part, "this timber Methodist Church was erected in 1879 on land situated at the corner of Argyle and Mill Streets (now part of the realigned Princes Highway)... and served its original purpose as a Church for nearly 60 years until 1939... it was relocated to this location in 1995...(and) refurbished to its present condition...". It was replaced in 1939 by a brick church building with the original wooden building being used as the Sunday School. The original Methodist Church/Congregation commenced in 1877, with the first services conducted in the original Presbyterian Church, in Campbell Street. More historical information/photographs are invited. Photographs uploaded 23/1/2015.
