The St John the Baptist Anglican Church, Wellington is part of the Parish of Wellington and the Diocese of Bathurst. The first Anglican church building was eected about 1845, and replaced by the current building, erected 1865-1867, with transepts added in 1873 and the bell tower in 1891.
(Wellington Times - 29 February 1940) "Our architect was the eminent Blackett, who designed the Sydney University, St. Paul's College, St. Andrew's Cathedral, St. Mark's, Darling Point, Christ Church, St. Lawrence, and many other Anglican churches throughout New South Wales. He is the greatest master in Gothic architecture that we have had in Australia. The foundation stone was laid on April 7th, 1867, but not until 1869 was the nave and western porch completed and consecrated on September 19th of that year."
More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 30/5/2018 & 11/6/2021.
