The former Holy Cross Anglican Church, Elizabeth Town has closed, and the property was sold in 2012. The church had been part of the Diocese of Tasmania. Before the erection of a church building, church services were held in the local schoolroom. Land for the erection of a church building was donated by Mr John Spicer, the local innkeeper. The church building held its first services in January 1893, and celebrated its 60th anniversary in December 1952. The original church building, a wooden structure, was brick veneered in the 1950s. The church ceased to function about 2011. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 1/3/2015.
