The first Anglican service in Shellharbour was held on 29/3/1857, in Wilson's Flour Mill.
The first St Paul's Anglican Church, Shellharbour building was opened on 13/3/1859. The present church building was opened on 24/3/1886 by Most Rev Dr Barry, Bishop of Sydney, and consecrated on 11/1/1909. The foundations of the earlier church are on the same site but now covered by grass. The jubilee of the church opening was held in 1936.
