The St Nicholas' Anglican Church, Sawtell is in the Parish of Sawtell/Bonville and the Diocese of Grafton. The church building was erected in 1933 by Osmond Sawtell. It was originally erected as a Union church building for use by multiple denominations. About 1978 the Anglican church purchased the building from the other denominations and opened St Nicholas' church. In 1992 Sawtell and Bonville combined, and in 1995 became a full parish. Unfortunately the Bonville church burned down in 2015.
