The St Mary's Anglican Church, Balmain is in the Parish of Darling Street and the Diocese of Sydney. The first church building on the site was opened in 1846. In 1858 a new chancel and vestry were added to it. Both of these were retained when the rest of the building was demolished to enable construction of the present church building, which was opened on 25/12/1859.
