The Crest Community Baptist Church, Bass Hill had its beginnings about 1971, when an Arabic Baptist community began within the Dulwich Hill Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Rev Said Oweis. In time it was accommodated by the Punchbowl Baptist Church, then the Bankstown Baptist Church as it followed the Arabic community.
