The present Leichhardt Community Church (former Baptist Church) building was erected about 1936. It replaced an earlier weatherboard structure, opened as a new Mission Church on 6/2/1898. It was erected on land donated by Messrs Dixson and William White, with the full cost of the building subscribed by the Petersham Church. No other details are known.
