The Tahmoor Baptist Church, is a member of the Baptist Churches of NSW & ACT. Informal fellowship meetings commenced in March 1947, meeting every second Sunday in the CWA Hall in Tahmoor with the assistance of Bowral Baptist Church. "Tahmoor Baptist Church" was officially established with the NSW Baptist Union on 7th September 1948 with ten members. Land at the corner of Thirlmere Way and Remembrance Dr was generously donated to the church by Mr & Mrs Emmett in order to provide Sunday School and church services in the centre of Tahmoor. Since the church 'officially' commenced in 1948, the church purchased it first manse in 1968 in what is now known as "the blue house". It purchased "the old hall" (originally known as "the Boys Brigade Hall") from the Water Board during the 1970s. The current church building was built and opened in 1979 - having been constructed largely by the church members. In 1983 a block of land on York St was purchased, and a small team of church members constructed it. In the 1990s a house at 5 Thirlmere Way was purchased. In 2011 plans were drawn up for the Noel Matthews Hall and construction began in 2012. The York St manse was sold to raise funds for the building works, and the house at No. 5 was demolished to make way for the car park. The Noel Matthews Hall was opened for use in 2017. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 27/5/2021.
