The present Griffith Baptist Church building was erected about 1973, and replaced an earlier building erected on the same site, and opened in 1925. The church began about 1919, meeting in the Lyceum Theatre and other venues before the original church was erected, with the help of the Home Mission Society (see separate entry - 2680).
