The first St Joseph's Catholic Church building began in 1872 when Fr McDonagh laid the foundation stone after saying Mass in a tent. A new stone building replaced the old one in about 1891. That building was then replaced when the new and current church was blessed and opened on 25th February 1923 by the Most Rev James Duhig DD, Archbishop of Brisbane. Rev Edward Barry was the Parish Priest.
An extension to St Joseph's was blessed and opened by the Most Rev Edward Kelly MSC DD, Bishop of Toowoomba on 20th October 1991. Rev Lino Valente was Parish Priest at the time. The church and altar was dedicated on 24th February 2013 by the Most Rev Robert McGuckin DD, Bishop of Toowoomba.
