(National Advocate - 17 August 1937) "CUDAL CATHOLIC CHURCH ---- Blessing by Dr. Norton There was a large congregation at St. Columbanus' Church, Cudal, on Lady Day for the blesslng by the Bishop of Bathurst of the completion of their Church. After warmly congratulating Father Nolan and his flock on what they had done to beautify the House of God, Dr. Norton's address gave an account of the opening of the Church. This took place on 2nd. May, 1880, and the ceremony was performed by the first Bishop of Bathurst. assisted by. Rev. James Kelly, Administrator of Orange, to whose parish Cudal was then attached. After the blessing, eighty people had been confirmed by the Bishop."
