Mary Immaculate Catholic Church

The Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Emu Park is part of the Parish of Capricorn Coast (with Yeppoon) and the Diocese of Rockhampton. The first church building was blessed and opened on 25/9/1904 by the Right Rev Bishop Doyle of Lismore. To cater for the growing congregation and swell from holiday makers, additions were made to the original building and opened on 23/12/1923. After the church building was declared unsafe in 1974, the former St Agnes school building was converted for use as the church, and officially opened on 26/5/1974 by Bishop B Wallace. It was soon realized that this building was too small, so plans for a new church building began, with the new building opened on 8/12/1984 by Bishop Ray Benjamin. The church celebrated its centenary on 25/11/2004.  More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 2/12/2018 & 6/11/2024.
