By the beginning of the 20th century the old township had moved to the present Marulan site. - In 1930 a Catholic Church was built here and named St Patrick's. The stone for the foundations came from the old lock-up at Wingello Stockade. - After the building of St Patrick's Marulan, the stone walls from the original Catholic Chuch at 'old Marulan' were removed and taken to St Patrick's Cemetery, Goulburn where the church was rebuilt. - St Patrick's School operated in the new Church from 1930 to 1938, run by the Sisters of St Joseph's Convent of Goulburn who travelled daily by train from Goulburn to Marulan. One pupil wrote. 'They were happy days and will long be remembered'. Church was held each Sunday. Annual picnic days, fetes and sports were a feature of the school and a Debutante Ball held in 1935 was attended by Prime Minister Joseph Lyons. - The ecumenical service for Marulan's 150th Birthday was held in St Patrick's Church where a large crowd joined in the celebrations.
