A heritage plaque records: One of the earliest surviving buildings associated with Manangatang, this home was built in the Edwardian style on a prominent corner block. It is thought to have been originally constructed in Sea Lake, circa 1915. It became the Catholic Presbytery in 1932. - Prior to the arrival of the Presbytery, the priest lived in two smallrooms now attached to the rear of the building. Locating clerical accommodation in close proximity to churches was ususal. - Since 1983 the Presbytery has not been occupied by the clergy - it is now privately-owned. - Funds for the Manangatang Catholic Church were raised at a concert at Annuello in 1924. Built in 1925 on land which is believed to have been donated by Tom O'Shannessy, St Patrick's Church demonstrates the expansion of community facilities and the development of the town after World War I. - Manangatang was the centre of St Patrick's Parish which included Chillingollah, Chinkapook, Mittyack, Bolton and Annuello. - Fr Rohan was the first Parish Priest.
