The St Brigid's Catholic Church, Dubbo is part of the Parish of Dubbo and the Diocese of Bathurst. The first recorded visit of a priest to Dubbo was on 10/10/1847. Regular Mass in Dubbo was celebrated from 1856, when the first church building was opened in Macquarie Street. The present church builidng was opened on 1/7/1990. It replaced the earlier church building, which is still on the site, which was opened on 8/3/1874 by Bishop Matthew Quinn, Bishop of Bathurst. This building was enlarged and re-roofed in 1982. The 1874 building was erected to replace the 1855 church building, which was destroyed in a storm on 22/8/1869. More historial information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
