Port Pirie Church of Christ - Former

The former Port Pirie Church of Christ closed many years ago, and the proprety was sold. The church was established about 1875, with its first church building opened in Florence Street on 31/8/1879. This building was sold to the Zion Lutheran Church about 1924, after the Church of Christ opened a new church building, believed to have been in The Terrace, about 1920. This building was replaced about 1963 with another building. The exact location of the 1920 or 1963 church buildings is not certain, as the buildings appear to have been removed/demolished. The Church of Christ joined with the Methodist Church in 1968 to form a United Parish, which became part of the Uniting Church in 1977. The Zion Lutheran Church closed the building when their St Andrew's Lutheran Church building was opened in Risdon Park in the 1960s.
