The former Sutherland Congregational Church building was erected in 1925, and replaced an earlier wooden structure built about 18871. The church was then known as the Evangelical Jubilee Church (that being the Jubilee Year [50years] of Queen Victoria's reign), it was located on the cnr of Robertson & Oxford Streets. The incomplete building was acquired by the Congregational Church in May 1888. The 1925 church building and property became part of the Uniting Church in 1977. The building is now used by the Grace Chinese Christian Church, which started about 1993, and conducts services in Mandarin, Cantonese and English (see separate entry). More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited.
