Comments
The original Mount Gavatt Congregational Church was built on land donated in 1865 by Mr Webb, a local identity, for the erection of a protestant church. Preachers were supplied mostly by Congregational churches, but in 1880 the Queensland Congregational Union accepted full charge.The church property was sold in November 1960, and the closing service was held on Sunday 17 December 1961.
The Mount Gravatt congregation joined with the South Brisbane congregation (see separate entry - 4101), and a new church was built at 54 Morland Street, Mount Gravatt. It was named Trinity Congregational Church (see separate entry - 4122). It was opened and dedicated on 6 April 1963.
