Combined preaching services with St Stephan's Lutheran Church on Stephan Road, Neales Flat, began in1964, using both church buildings. When the two Lutheran Synods in Australia amalgamated on 1 January 1967 it was renamed Trinity Lutheran Church as its congregation merged with that of the adjacent St John's Church - On 11 October 2009 Trinity Church was closed and the former St John's Church was then reconsecrated as the Neales Flat Lutheran Church, a change resulting from the merging of the Trinity congregation with that of St Stephan's.

Plaques on the original St Paul's (no photographs of church) record:

.Former - St Paul's Lutheran Church - This building was erected in 1874 by Lutheran settlers. It then combined a church with a Lutheran Day Scchool and a teacher's residence. After the adjacent St Paul's was built in 1893 the school continued here until 1917, when it became a public school. This was closed in 1942. From 1894 the St John's Lutheran Congregation also used the building until their own church was erected on the adhjacent site in 1912. Since 1942 the building has been used as a meeting place and for periodic reunions of former scholars of the school.

The former Trinity Lutheran Church, Neales Flat amalagmated with the St Stephan's Lutheran Church, Neales Flat to form the Neales Flat Lutheran Church about 1982 (see separate entry - 5374). Its services being held in the former St John's church building, which was reconsecrated.

The former St Paul's Lutheran Church, Neales Flat amalgamated, after the formation of the Lutheran Church of Australia in 1966, with the St John's Lutheran Church, Neales Flat, to form the Trinity Lutheran Church, meeting in the former St Paul's building.

The first St Paul's church building was opened and dedicated on 18/10/1874, also serving for a period as a school. A larger St Paul's church building was erected next door and dedicated on 18/11/1893, to meet the needs of the growing congregation.

In 1895 due to disputes within the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Australia (ELSA), St Paul's became an independent congregation. Some members of the congregation disagreed and formed the separate St John's Lutheran Church, aligned to the ELSA, on the same site. The dispute was deep enough to lead to the fencing off of sections in the adjoing cemetery.

More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation(s) are invited. Photographs uploaded 16/3/2025.
