The former Angle Grove Lutheran Church began in 1875/6, with early services held in private homes. A church building was opened on 8/9/1891 by Pastor J E Hansen. This was the original Lutheran church in the district. It closed in 1909 when the town was moved due to the need for water, for steam locomotives, and this church was demolished. A new church building, St John's Lutheran Church, was erected on land donated by Mr T Coombe, at 131 Koolunga Road, Brinkworth (see separate entry - 5464). The site of the 1891 church building is now marked by a Cairn, beside the Angle Grove Lutheran Cemetery. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 9/3/2025.
