The former Evandale Methodist Church [Old Wesleyan Chapel] was closed many years ago and the property was sold about 1975. The church building was erected about 1836, but little other detail is known. The history of the building and the uncertain relationship between the Wesleyans/Methodists and the erection of a Mission Hall, funded by a Mrs Reed, seems to have obscured its place in the Evandale community. At some point it was closed and re-opened after ten years in April 1954, with a special service. How long it functioned as a church is not known, as the building was sold in 1975, having been used as a Druid Hall, a Scout Hall and by the Returend Service League. More historical information/photographs on the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 04/09/2016.
