However, with the development of the Dangin town a permanent church was needed & this site was donated to the Methodist Community by Jonah Parker. Initially a small church & manse was built. The first minister was the Rev William Watson. The President of the Methodist Ladies Guild, Mrs E C Johnston laid the foundation stone for the present church & manse, which replaced the original wooden building in 1927. Jonah Parker, Dangins Founder & Benefactor died of a brain hemorrhage at the age of 5?. A memorial service was held for him on October 18th 1914.
