Foundation Stone Notes:	A stone high up on the gable records: Primitive Methodist - Church - 1860. A plaque records: This building, formerly a Primitive Methodist Church and later Mr Harrie S Hannaford's produce store, was converted into a Senior Citizens' Centre after Mr Hannaford offered the propery to the council on favourable terms for that purpose. In recognition of this action and his long period of service as president of Balmain District Rugby League Football Club, council officially named the centre The Harrie S Hannaford Senior Citizens' Centre. The completed centre was officially opened by His Worship The Mayor. Ald L J Rodwell on 27th August, 1977. ~ J Ragen, Town Clerk.

Comments

The former Rozelle Methodist Church closed about 1910, and the property was eventually sold. The church building was erected about 1880, and ceased functining as a church about 1910. It was probably closed due to the amalgamation of a number of Methodist churches, after the formation of the Methodist Church, from a number of strands, in the early 1900s. Prior to the erection of the church building services were conducted in private homes. No other details are known.
