Guyong Methodist Church - Former

The former Guyong Methodist Church, is now closed, and the property privately owned. This was the fourth Wesleyan Church in the district, the sites of the earlier ones being more difficult to determine. It is believed the earlier ones were erected about 1841, 1857, 1873 with the present bluestone building erected about 1875. The number of Wesleyan churches reflects the religious affiliation of the Cornish settlers. Until the first church building was erected it is undertood open air services were held at 'Bethel Rock' ¹.
