The former Stanley Wesleyan Methodist Church closed about 1900, and the building was acquired by the Presbyterian Church next door for use as a hall (see separate entry - 7331). The first Methodist service in the district was held in 1862 by the Rev Cook. In the early years the Methodist Church used the Presbyterian Church building for their services (it had opened in 1855). The Methodist's church building was opened on 12/10/1873 by the Rev A O Ogilvie. For many years, difficulties in having a permanent minister led to the church closing around 1900. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 21/4/2023.
