The current Hemmant Christian Community Chapel building was saved from demolition by a local community group when the Hemmant Uniting Church closed in 1988. It was then re-opened as the non-denominational Hemmant Christian Community Church. It is now available for hire by local Christian organisations. The former church building was originally constructed for the Tingalpa Wesleyan Methodist Church, and opened in November 1866. It later became the Hermmant Methodist Church and then part of the Uniting Church in 1977. More historical information/photographs of the church(es)/congregation(s) are invited.
