The former Bordertown Chapel was a meeting place for Christians in the town before any denominational churches were built. It is taken to have opened in 1874, due to the stone in the front wall. In Australia, in rural areas, it was common for a Union Chapel/Church building to be erected/owned by a local trust and made available for use by multiple denominations. This was generally due to their inability to meet the cost of erecting their own churches. It is not known if this was such a building, but it is possible. It is now part of an Old Primary School Project, so has not been used as a Chapel for some time. Clarification of earlier building use and, if relevant, more historical information/photographs of the former chapel/congregation(s) are invited. Photographs uploaded 1/1/2023.
