The St George Greek Orthodox Church and Community of Port Pirie was incorporated in 1925, being Australia's second oldest Greek Community. The church is part of the District of Adelaide & Darwin and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. The church building was opened and consecrated on 17/7/1960, although Greeks were amongst the earliest European groups to settle in Port Pirie, so have a much longer history here.
