The St Mary & St Mina's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, Bexley is the home of the throne of the Bishop of the Coptic Diocese of Sydney & Affiliated Regions. The church was established in 1969 by the Late Fr Mina Nematalla under the guidance of His Holiness Pope Kyrillos VI, and was one of the first Coptic Orthodox Churches outside the Nile Valley. It was originally located in Railway Road, Sydenham in a former Methodist Church building. In 2002, the Church relocated to the current site in Bexley after changes to the Sydney Airports runway led the federal government to relocate residents and owners of the area to other properties. No other details are known. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 14/2/2022.
