Village Avenue Community Church is an affiliate of the Christian Community Churches of Australia, a network of evangelical churches working together to support and strengthen each other for the benefit of local communities across Australia.

The church was opened in 1997 by the Governor of Queensland. It had its orgins in the ministry of Mr and Mrs Goodhew in the 1930's. It expanded to become the Annerley Gospel Chapel in Franklin Street, by 1948 and then further to become Village Avenue Community Church in 1997.
