The Hillsong Church, Geelong West have been meeting in this church building from about 2019. Prior to this the building had been used by the Geelong Vineyard Church and the Bethel Christian Fellowship (Baptist). The church building had originally been erected in 1868, for the Pakington Street Primitive Methodist Church. This church/congregation began in 1853, erecting a small chapel in Weller Street about 1855. It celebrated its centenary in 1953. This church became part of the Uniting Church in 1977, subsequently closed, and the property has now been sold. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited.
