Hastings River Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australia - Wauchope

Hastings River Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australia, Wauchope. This denomination is distinct  from the Presbyterian Church of Australia, and was popularly known as the Free Church. Church services began on the Bain property in 1862 and a church built at Letterewe. But with population shifts the present brick Davis Memorial Church was erected in 1918 at a cost of £741. John Davis, who was minister 1879-91 and 1894-94 was killed by a falling tree branch on 25 November 1897 at age 43. Lengthy ministries include Revs. M. C. Ramsay (1921-37), J. A.
