(The Cobargo Chronicle - 26 April 1907) "Opening of the New Methodist Church at Central Tilba. On Tuesday last the New Methodist Church at Central Tilba was opened, the Rev. E. Youngman Missionary to the Chinese, and late of North Queensland, occupying the pulpit both in the morning and evening. In spite of the fact that every inch of space had been utilised for seating accommodation not a few of the congregation had to be content with half a chair, and many perforce to stand in the porch".
The former Central Tilba Uniting Church building is now privately owned. The church was built in 1907 on land donated by Samuel W Bate. Prior to this date services were held in private homes. For almost a century, services were conducted here by visiting ministers until 2007. No other details are known about the church. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 4/9/2017.
