The Kempsey Uniting Church is part of the Macleay River Congregation which meets in three centres (also includes Crescent Head and Frederickton). It is also part of the Mid North Coast Presbytery and the Uniting Church Synod of NSW & ACT. The present church building was opened in 1953, and replaced earlier buildings at another site. An earlier church building in Smith Street (built 1874/5, on land donated by Mrs Mary Smith, was destroyed by fire in the early 1900s). This was replaced by a fine building in Belgrave Street (built 1906/7, but destroyed by storms and floods in 1949 and 1950). More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 1/4/2020.
