The Northern Illawarra Uniting Church, Bulli.1
The earliest Methodist meetings in the district were held about 1838 in a private home in Dapto. The Rev Orton, as the first Wesleyan Minister to visit the district conducted a service in 1839. The first church building was a converted barn, opened on 26/1/1862. The congregation grew with the beginning of coal mining, and a larger church building was planned. The present church was built on land donated by Mr Robert Somerville, and a 50 pound donation was made by Miss Thompson to assist with the cost of the church building. This new building was opened on 7/5/1865 by the Rev G Hurst. Over the years more buildings and alterations have been made to meet the needs of the congregation. The church celebrated its 150th anniversary in May 2015. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 13/4/2021.
