The St Matthew's Anglican Church, Bannaby is part of the Parish of Taralga and the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn. The weatherboard church building was erected in 1898. The church celebrated its centenary on 20/9/1998 and its 125th anniversary in September 2023. A cemetery is located adjacent to the church. The cemetery was originally on land owned by the Hillas family, and the first burial on 30/12/1893 was for Matthew Hillas.
