The former Patton Street Baptist Church closed in the 1970s, and the property was sold. The first church building opened in April 1891. It was a timber and iron structure, which was enlarged in 1893. The present building was erected in 1911. The church closed in 1938, and after renovation of the building re-opened in 19471.
