This former Berrima Presbyterian Church closed many years ago, and the property was sold in the 1990s. The first Presbyterian service in the Berrima district was held in the Court House on 4/2/1838, by the Rev William Hamilton. The first Berrima Presbyterian Church building was erected in 1866, but this building has long disappeared.  The present building was erected in 1876, by Mr James Powell, as a Masonic Temple. After many uses and users the building was gifted by Mrs C C Wearne (granddaughter of Mr Powell who built the Temple) to be used as a church. It was subsequently known as The Finlayson Memorial Presbyterian Church in memory of her mother. It was opened on Saturday 8/2/1930. In 1938 a service was held to commemorate the centenary of the first Presbyterian service held in the Berimma district. The Moderator, the Right Rev A C Grieve BA and a descendant of the Rev W Hamilton were speakers1. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 28/8/2017.
