This former Burrawang Presbyterian Church property is now privately owned. It was opened on 15/2/1888 on land donated for a church, with the first sermon preached by the Rev Dr Steel. No other details are known. In the town there was strong respect between the various denominations and of special note was when the Catholic church, who didn't have an organ, would borrow the one from the Presbyterian church, carrying it across the road1. The churches were on opposite each other. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photograph uploaded 24/11/2020 & 17/8/2021.
Note 1. This story is told by Dianne Charge, who grew up attending the Presbyterian Church, and whose father, Eric Saxton, was an elder for 50 years and fill in preacher, if the minister was unavailable or sick.
