(Goulburn Evening Penny Post - 16 October 1886)  "Presbyterian Church, Bungendore. A new Presbyterian church was opened at Bungendore on Sunday morning by the Rev. Dr. Steel, assisted by his, son, the Rev. R. A. Steel, MA., incumbent of the district. The congregation completely filled the pews. This church has been erected in place of the one taken along with the site by the Government for railway purposes. The design is very neat, with porch and vestry. The windows are filled with cathedral glass, and two small ones in the end have appropriate emblems in stained glass, one being St. Andrew's cross, arid the other the Burning Bush There is a good bell, in a separate belfry apart from the Church. Dr. Steel proceeded to Gundaroo, and preached there in the evening."

The former St John's Uniting Church, Bungendore, is now privately owned. No other details are known about the former church. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 23/12/2018.
