Comments
The former Holy Cross Anglican Church, Bonville closed when its building was entirely destroyed by fire on 14/7/2015. It had served the community for 92 years. The congregation however, by 2015 had combined with St Nicholas' Sawtell in 1992 (see separate entry - 2052), and in 1995 became the Parish of Sawtell/Bonville, and part of the Diocese of Grafton. Although the erection of the Bonville church building began in 1914, it was not completed and dedicated until 1923. Prior to the erection of the church building services were conducted in private homes. More historical information/photographs of the former church/congregation are invited.
