The former Thomas Street Uniting Church, Broken Hill closed in Decemebr 1989, with the congregation joining the Wesley Uniting Church in Cobalt Street. The church building had originally been opened at cnr of Cummins and Kaolin Streets, about 1892, and known as the Picton Wesleyan Methodist Church. It replaced a cottage used for services on the same site. In 1912 the church building was moved to 130 Thomas Street (cnr Kaolin and Thomas Street), and became the Thomas Street Methodist/Uniting Church1. The church hall was from the Blende Street Church - Primitive Methodist - when their church closed in May 1926, and the congregation joined the now Wesley Uniting Church. The church closed in its 78th year, as the home of the Thomas Street church. More historical information/photographs of the former church(es)/congregation(s) are invited. Photographs uploaded 7/8/2021.
