(The Daily Telegraph - 18 March 1929) "NEW CHURCH AT CONCORD St. Mary's: Building Cost £35,800 The new St. Mary's Church, Concord, which cost £35,800 to build, was opened yesterday by Archbisliop Kelly. A debt of £22,000 has to be wiped off. St. Mary's is one of the biggest parish churches in Australia, and has a remarkable ornate interior carried out in Byzantine style. The out side of the church is of brick, and the gable carries an illuminated cross. A bell, weighing 15cwt., swings in a tower.
