The St Peter's Anglican Church, Swansea is part of the Parish of East Lake Macquarie and the Diocese of Newcastle. The first St Peter's Anglican Church (Church of England) building was dedicated by the Right Rev Josiah B Pearson, Bishop of Newcastle on 5/4/1884. It was a wooden structure.
The cornerstone of the present church building was dedicated by the Right Rev Francis de Witt Batty, Bishop of Newcastle. It was opened and dedicated on 14/12/1958 by the Right Rev James Housden, Bishop of Newcastle and consecrated on 21/4/1974 by Bishop Ian Shevill. [see below].
