The present St Bernard's Catholic Church, Botany is in the Parish of Botany and the Diocese of Sydney. The foundation stone for the first church buiding was laid on 11/9/1860, on land donated by Edward Lord in Botany Road. It was later renovated and enlarged, and re-opened on 12/5/1895 by Cardinal Moran. This site was acquired by the government in 1954. The current church building was erected on the present site in Ramsgate Street and opened by Cardinal Gilroy on 3/4/1955.
