The St Peter Chanel & St Joseph Catholic Church, Berala is in the Parish of Berela and the Diocese of Sydney. The first indepenedent service of St Peter's was held on 28/9/1919, in a hall in Third Avenue. A church/school was completed in 1924, in Regent Street. This building was relocated in 1928 to a new site purchased in Kingsland Road. The present church building was begun in February 1958 and opened on 15/3/1959, it replaced the earlier church buildings at the same site.
