Dee Why Uniting Church - Cecil Gribble Tongan Congregation

The Dee Why Uniting Church/Cecil Gribble Tongan Congregation, Dee Why is part of the Sydney Central Coast Presbytery and the Uniting Church Synod of NSW & ACT. The first Methodist service in Dee Why was held at the home of David and Priscilla Broadbent on 25/11/1917. The first church building was a weather board cottage on land  purchased in Oaks Avenue, which after some alterations was opened on 5/10/1918. The present Dee Why Uniting Church was erected in 1921 and opened by the Rev Henry Howard on 9/4/1921. It is now called the Cecil Gribble Tongan Congregation, in recognition of Cecil Gribble a National and International Methodist leader and missionary to Tonga.
