The St Luke's Anglican Church, Liverpool is the oldest, still existing Anglican church in Australia. It was commissioned by Governor Lachlan Macquarie and designed by Francis Greenway. The first service was held in it on 18/10/1819, St Luke's Day, although the church was not completed until about 1820. Many additions and modifications have been made over the years. At the centenary of the church's consecration in 1956, it was discovered that it had not been consecrated in 1856 as believed. More historical information/photographs of the church/congregation are invited. Photographs uploaded 3/11/2020.
